Human Technopole Foundation issued a press release: “On June 18, it takes office the first Supervisory Board of the Human Technopole Foundation, the new research institute on the life sciences at the heart of MIND, the Milano innovation district. During the first meeting, the Supervisory board, in charge of ensuring the excellence of the Foundation and supervising its activities, nominates the first Director of Human Technopole Iain Mattaj, actual EMBL Director General. The Supervisory board has also arranged the next activities of the Foundation”.

Marialuisa Lavitrano, Director of the Executive Masters in Management of Research Infrastructures and professor of Pathology, has commented this news: “I am so glad to hear the choice made by the board of experts that designed Professor Mattaj as first Director of Human Technopole. Professor Mattaj’s contribution to EMMRI gives prestige not only to our Master programme, but also to the entire educational offer provided by the University of Milano-Bicocca. Professor Mattaj will contribute to making Milan one of the most important hubs of European scientific research.”.

And Enrico Guarini, Professor of Business Administration and Management and Programme Coordinator of the Executive Masters in Management of Research Infrastructures, also said: “Iain Mattaj is a prominent international scientist in molecular biology that we strongly wanted within our executive programme. He will give a significant contribution to the participants thanks to his strong managerial experience in managing large scale research infrastructures”.
